Curious George Auditions at SecondStory Repertory

Audition Date: We are taking submissions and casting from those we receive by November 18th at 7pm.

Audition Requirements: We are looking for true, triple threat, musical theater performers. The role of George is non-speaking but requires performers with strong movement training. Please send an email with headshot, resume and any conflicts you may have with the schedule. Conflicts will be considered heavily in the casting process.

MonoMyth Theatre Auditions for Controlled Burn

MonoMyth Theatre is holding auditions for our December 2016 production of Controlled Burn, a new work by Lojo Simon. Directed by Cady Smola.

Synopsis: Claire’s house burns down in a California wildfire, setting off a series of events that forces her to face parts of her life that she has been denying for too long, including her husband’s infidelity and her mother’s mental illness. A contemporary, small-cast comedic drama, Controlled Burn is a play about dying and living and how we find our way through both.

Development History: Controlled Burn was workshopped in the University of Idaho MFA program in 2012, at Montana Rep’s Missoula Colony in 2014, and in Peoria, Arizona’s TheaterWorks’ WESTival in 2015.

The show runs at the Slate Theater December 1st-10th , 2016. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 7:30pm.

Rehearsals will begin October 9th and will run Sunday-Thursday at TPS until we open.

Audition Date: Friday, September 23rd, 2016; 6:30pm - 10:00pm @ TPS Studio E.

Callback Date: Saturday, September 24th, 2016; 4:00pm – 8:00pm at TPS Studio E.

A tour de force for two actors of any race or ethnicity, the play contains one femaie character, age range 37 to 42, and one male character, age range 26 to 31. Actors do not have to be the ages indicated, but must be able to convincingly portray them.

This cult classic horror/sci-fi parody -- which inspired the 1975 long-running midnight movie beloved by millions -- takes place on a dark and stormy night, as clean-cut sweethearts Brad and Janet find themselves stranded on a lonely road. The innocent couple seeks refuge at the castle of gender-bending mad scientist Dr. Frank N. Furter. Once inside, they have their eyes opened to a whole new world of sex, science -- and maybe even love.

Laffgasm games is a tabletop game publisher that will be releasing our first game to kick starter this fall and we are looking for 4 talented individuals that can work with our director and filming crew to make a hilarious video to advertise our zombie party game.

Roles: ALETHIA: Age 50+ Recently widowed, Alethia is moving to Silverspring to live with her daughter; she is kind and warm, but is deathly afraid of being alone and of dying; she is quite superstitious, and her fear of death and of solitude eventually overrules her logical mind and she begins to fear the supernatural elements of the forest; the year being 1860, Alethia's role, like all the roles in this film, requires that the actor assume the accent/dialect/speech-pattern of the time, which will be covered in rehearsals.
JUDD: AGE 30 - 70 A self-important and power-hungry reverend; integral character in the film; he claims to be preaching the word of God. Judd is an intimidating man, who makes sure everybody knows he's in charge; when Clara enters the group, he blames the supernatural circumstance surrounding her for the group's misfortunes; his presence, along with the otherworldly nature of the forest, forces the group into situations they'd otherwise prefer to avoid; the year being 1860, Judd's role, like all the roles in this film, requires that the actor assume the accent/dialect/speech-pattern of the time, which will be covered in rehearsals.

It's about one moment. It's about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today, the Songs For A New World. Jason Robert Brown transports his audience from the deck of a 1492 Spanish sailing ship to a ledge 57 stories above Fifth Avenue to meet a startling array of characters ranging from a young man who has determined that basket-ball is his ticket out of the ghetto to a woman whose dream of marrying rich nabs her the man of her dreams and a soulless marriage.

Valley Center Stage is seeking actors (all roles are available) for our upcoming summer production of "Alice" (an adaption of "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll) and "Who Stole the Queens' Tarts?" a crime solving comedy by P.Haines-Ainsworth with music by Terence Alaric Levitt and featuring characters from Lewis Carroll’s classic “Alice in Wonderland”.

RAY (featured) Male/ mid 20s-early 30s/Any ethnicity The straight man, charming. Trying to do the right thing but constantly distracted by his beautiful wife who leads him down a questionable path. Must be comfortable kissing in a romantic scene. Willing to do light improv and age 20 years in under 20 minutes (with help from costume/make-up)
EDIE (featured) Female/early 20s-late 20s/Any ethnicity Former party girl reluctantly being dragged towards “respectability” in life with a job and husband but not tonight; tonight she is in full hostess mode. Very funny, the alpha in the relationship with slightly questionable morals. Must be comfortable kissing in a romantic scene, get really pissed off, willing to improv and age 20 years in under 20 minutes.
JULIET (supporting) Female/early 20s-late20s/Any ethnicity Current party girl and best friend back in town for her old roommate’s big party. She lights up the room.
JASPER (supporting) Male/17-20/Any ethnicity but dependent on Ray/Edie casting since he is their biological son Young, frat college student appears at the end of the film for the big reveal.
