Non-union short film, 'Clarity'
We are in the process of auditioning Female Actors for the leading Young Woman role in our upcoming non-union short film, "Clarity." There is no on-camera dialogue in the film, so there is no need for any monologue or dialogue preparation. The audition will simply be a short interview to discuss the project in more detail and also get a feel if you will be a good fit for the part. The part calls for a young woman, ages 25-30 (although open to slightly younger or slightly older), height 5’9’’ tops. She must be fit (runner/yoga), as there is a jogging scene. We are also working on a very tight budget, so the actress will need to provide their own costumes (we will discuss). The auditions will be held by appointment on May 11, but if need be, we can make adjustments to fit you in. Please provide Resume and Headshot with e-mail response if interested.

Audition Requirements: Please come prepared with headshot, resume, and a 2 minute comedic monologue.

Please contact jenklos@gmail.com to schedule an audition time.

Character Breakdown / Project Needs
*Roles listed are representative. Exact casting will be determined at callbacks.
We are not seeing anyone under the age of 18 for this particular production.

George Hay - is very dramatic, a slapstick type, over-the-top actor. As leader of his own acting troupe, George has always had aspirations to be famous. He’s a bit of a ladies’ man but really is devoted to his wife, Charlotte. The actor must be able to do strong physical comedy, which could include pratfalls, running, stage slaps, stage combat, etc.

Charlotte Hay - is very much a drama queen. She helps to run the acting troupe and plays all the leads even the ones she’s a bit old for. She is a consummate actress who still has dreams of being a star--at all costs! She loves George but is getting tired of his philandering. She has to be able to do an upper-class British accent. Some physical comedy required.

Ethel - Charlotte's mother--close to her daughter, but not happy with her daughter’s choice of a husband. She is also an actress--very witty, and doesn't take any crap from anyone! She is very hard of hearing, which leads to comic misunderstandings.

Rosalind Hay - George and Charlotte's daughter, used to be an actress and a member of their acting troupe, but she decided that she wanted a real career, so she left--determined never to act again--or be like her parents! Rosalind is, in fact, always repressing her dramatic side, but it’s a losing battle by the end. She has a new fiancé, Howard, but she used to be in love with an actor in her parent's troupe, Paul. The actress has to also be able to do an upper-class British accent.

Howard - Rosalind's fiancé--a weatherman--so he considers himself to be in the "acting" business. He comes across as a wimp, a little annoying, nervous, and very excitable. The actor must be able to do strong physical comedy.

Eileen - is an aspiring actress, eager to please. She has a crush on George and has been having a fling with him. Eileen wants to be a leading actress with the company, and she comes across very flighty and naïve, but ultimately will do anything to get what she wants. She can be played as a bit manipulative.

Paul - is a member of the acting troupe, who used to be with Rosalind and still loves her and wants her back; but he is an actor first and foremost, so he wouldn't leave the troupe to be with her. Paul has a quiet, subtle sense of humor and often holds the company together. The actor must be able to do an upper-class British accent and must be able to do strong physical comedy.

Richard - George and Charlotte's attorney, but he is in love with Charlotte--always trying to get her to leave George. He is wealthy and used to getting what he wants, and he is both amused and perplexed by the Hay family.

A short comedy to be shot in the Seattle-Tacoma area is looking for 2 actors to play the hero and villain of our little tale. Here's the rundown:

Actors wanted for Super 16mm feature film shooting August weekends

Arthouse beach movie "Mondo Beacho" is casting for our August 2013 shoot. There no pay but there will be a small honorarium, food on the set, and a DVD copy of the finished film: which is an art-house beach movie. Our previous films have gone to festivals around the country. See more information at http://grotonbridgefilms.blogspot.com

For the film, everyone should be comfortable in beachwear and have a calm, relaxed vibe (despite the rock n' roll element).

Please send a low-res digital photo and resume to grotonbridgefilms@outlook.com.

We will contact you if we'd like to see you for an in-person audition.

FYI, we'll be videotaping the process for internal use only.

We look forward to hearing from you!!

Hadley Hillel UNDER THE BED (Dark Comedy Short Film)

Looking for two young male actors and three adult actors to be in dark comedy student short film “Under the Bed” to be shot in January. This short will be shot in the Seattle Area. This is a dark comedy student film for a high school film class. I have professional experience in filmmaking and have made a number of other short films, my most recent of which has been accepted into various film festivals and won both jury and audience awards. This film follows the story of Walter, an adolescent boy who discovers a monster under his bed. When he accidentally kills it by poisoning it with his mother’s cooking, he is forced to find a way to bury the body before his obsessive taxidermist father finds out and stuffs it. Walter is assisted by his carpool Zach, a next-door neighbor with a very controlling mother.

I feel as though this is an important story to tell, because it deals with themes such as loneliness, the value of friendship, and the awkwardness and humor of adolescence, which everyone can relate to.
